Aiken Daily Sun Screen Face and Body Lotion Review
Another sunscreen review,
yay!
Finding the
right sunscreen can be tough, to say the least. I don’t know why but it’s
always difficult for me to find the right ‘one’. I don’t know if it’s just me
and my commitment issues but I’m still searching for the one sunscreen that
doesn’t make me look for any other (like all things in life :P).
Anyway, Aiken
is a brand that’s been around for a long time in Malaysia. Their products never
peek my interest though. I know they are affordable and all but I always
brushed them off for the most part. That is, until their sunscreen came into
the picture. I never realized that they have their own sunscreen until my
friend told me she’s been using it occasionally a year ago. I tested it out,
liked the texture any decided to buy it when my Wardah’s sun gel was almost
finish.
Right off the
bat, you’re going to notice that this sunscreen comes in a larger amount than
most sunscreen. I liked that, I really do. I don’t get why we paid so much for
sunscreen but only end up with 40-30 ml only. I know that it’s only used during
the day but we have to re-apply every 4-5 hours so overtime, it can run out
fast. It’s very affordable. I got this for 14.9 MYR in Caring pharmacy so
you’re not actually breaking the bank.
But all that
doesn’t matter, right? Because with skincare, it’s not the price and the amount
(okay, maybe it is) … it’s the performance.
I didn’t like
it at first but dare I say, it’s growing on me. I guess what I didn’t like
about this sunscreen is that it can cause my skin to get heated. I think they
use chemical uv filters which can be a problem for sensitive skin folks (like
myself) but that only happens during really hot days where the sun is blaring
at me. But if I don’t spend too much time under the sun and during the rainy
seasons, I don’t really experience any heating up. I do experience some occasional
itchiness from this though but it’s tolerable. Nothing super irritating or
anything. It's also worth mentioning that this sunscreen contains fragrance. I mean, fragrance is one of my pet peeves in skincare but it is towards the end of the ingredients list so it doesn't bother me so much. Besides, it doesn't cause me to puke so the fragrance here is very tolerable and disappear as soon as you blend into your skin so that's that!
I do like
that this is not heavy at all on my skin though! It just spreads easily and
blends into your skin, leaving no white-cast and your skin looking radiant and
glowy. Some might not like that glazed finish but the greasier my face gets,
the happier I am so it’s not an issue for me! It blends really well too and you
don’t require much effort to make it seamless (this is why, I am not a
bootyguru) on your face. It is also light-weight so if you’re worried about
cakey-ness or that heavy-feeling, this might be a good pick for you.
But if you’re
asking me if I’d repurchase it… maybe but for my body-care routine. I don’t see
this in my daytime skincare routine anymore because Malaysia is always summer
most of the year with the raining season popping in for four months or three.
To sum it up, nope for my face. Yes for my body. That’s all for my review on
this. Maybe you’d read from me in two years from now? Idk!
