Silkgirl's Perfect Matte Liquid Eyeliner Review

When it comes to eyeliner, I’d like to think I’m a very picky person. I’m still not great with makeup but I really love the effect of eyeliner. You can really play up your looks with just a line.  I do believe that there’s some good eyeliners out there in the drugstores that can perform just as good as high-end yet I’m still on the search for it. Today, I’ll be reviewing Silkgirl Cosmetics’s Perfect Matte Liquid Eyeliner in 02, Brown.

I live in a humid country, so it makes sense why I’d be picky with eyeliners. I want something that is not only smudge-proof and water-proof but BUDGE-PROOF. When I got this, I have high hopes, especially I know there are some friends and people raving on Silkgirl’s eyeliners. The eyeliners come in a dip brush packaging, one of the most traditional packaging for eyeliners. 

The claims? A lot, actually. It claims to be long-lasting up to 17 hours, water-proof, smudge-proof and sweat-proof. Basically the perfect eyeliner to me. 

Bear in mind, I’ve tested this eyeliner a lot of times before I review this. Being an oily lids gal, I struggle a lot with eyeliners. So here’s my two cents on this product. It’s not waterproof, I’ll start with that. Yes, I did allow it to set and tested couple of times before reviewing this. No matter what I do, it always comes off with water so it loses points on not living up to its claims. As for smudge-proof, nope. Another disappointment. Whenever I wear this, with my oily lids,  not even at the end of the day, it’ll come off. Which is just sad to me. I’m fine if you are not water-proof but not smudge-proof? Damn. Is it long lasting? Of course not.

The brush isn’t bad, you can get a lot of different lines with it and the finish of this is matte which is nice and the price is really affordable too but even the goods of it can’t outweigh the bad of it.

I don’t know why it’s so hard to please me lol but I will not be repurchasing this. I’m sad because I expected a lot from this but maybe next time when I try some of their products, I won’t be so disappointed. Everything I bought is from my own money so… nothing but honesty here.
