Skin Aqua Sunplay UV Brightening Moisture Gel Review

It's been a while since I've written a review - for a good reason. A lot of things happened in my life and I feel I haven't got the chance to catch a breath.

Nonetheless, this post today won't be talking about that. I'm here to review Skin Aqua's Sunplay UV Brightening Moisture Gel

Do you know how expensive sunscreens are and how little they come within a bottle? Yeah. That always put me off about them. They're arguably one of the most important skincare steps and yet- what gives?

That aside, it didn't stop me from exploring the best sunscreen at an affordable price. While brands both high-end and affordable are coming up with their own, I find that most sold at the drugstore often miss their mark in terms of either formulation or ingredients. Now, I'm no skincare guru or dermatologist but I know fully well to AVOID two things in my skincare - fragrance and pure alcohol. Sadly, these two are often present in sunscreens.

Searched high and low and I managed to find one free from those two ingredients - the Skin Aqua Sunplay UV Brightening Moisture Gel! I'm not sure why this sunscreen is not talked about enough because it definitely deserves some spotlight.

What makes me purchase this sunscreen? Well, other than free from common irritants, this sunscreen also comes in a generous size - 80ml for RM42.90 is a steal if you ask me. Plus, Guardian and Watson have it on sale and you can snag it at RM30 even! Usually, sunscreens would come in a 30ml or 50ml tube and around RM30 to RM100 even.

Other than the size, this sunscreen is rather lightweight! I wouldn't say it lives up to the 'Gel' in its name but it is fluid-like, making it easy to work with and pleasant to wear for someone with oily skin such as myself. Non-heavy and doesn't pills, this sunscreen is perfect to wear on its own or under makeup!

As someone with sensitive and acne-prone skin, this sunscreen has never caused me any irritation but we're all different so I suggest doing a patch test.

With no sickening scent, this sunscreen is a breeze to apply and leaves a glowing finish on the skin with no white cast but it can give off excessive shine. Personally, that doesn't bother me but it's understandable why it can put off others. After all, not all of us want to look like a ball of grease.

Left is before spreading and the Right is after spreading the sunscreen

To conclude my review, I definitely love this sunscreen. It's been in my routine for over a year now and I've repurchased it around four to five times already. I don't have any complaints about it but I'm looking forward to trying other options out there. If all else fails, I know I have this sunscreen to run back to.

So if you're looking for a sunscreen that's perfect for sensitive skin and budget-friendly, definitely give this one a go!
