Biore Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen Review
Happy Late New Years! I think many
of us take sun protection lightly. To some beauty junkie, that may seem like a
surprise but I see many friends walking outside of their home without applying
any sunscreen and to be honest, it bugged me tremendously. I could go on and on
about the importance of sunscreen but I honestly can’t blame them. First, not
everyone is educated to the importance of sunscreen. Second, applying sunscreen
isn’t pleasant at all... especially when you’re using the one with the wrong
formulas and ingredients.
Searching for
the right sunscreen can be a daughting task and let’s face it, not everyone are
bless with all the money in the world to be spending it on trying all the
sunscreens in the market. I sure as hell don’t. Up until now, I think I have yet to discover
what works for me... but hey, today I’ll share my thoughts on a really popular
sunscreen in the Asia drugstore. It’s the Biore Aqua Rich Watery Essence.
This is the
second sunscreen I used and it is better than the first one I used. I can
safely say that because of this sunscreen, it really changed my perception on
sunscreen. I used to view them as tacky, thick and heavy but this one really
changes everything. Let’s first talk about the good of it. Well, I can see why this is so popular. It
really does feel light on my face, not heavy at all and doesn’t leave a greasy
and white cast which I hate. This
sunscreen also spreads nicely and doesn’t require you to really rub it in into
your skin to make it sink. There’s also a fresh citrus scent though not as
strong.
However, I
think this sunscreen has it’s downfall as well. I think the major flaw of it
that made me take a stepback from it and really doubtful of it is the
aftereffect of it. Each time I applied it, I always feel my face feeling
slightly heated. I don’t think it’s an allergy but I think because of the UV
filters? I don’t know. Another drawback of it is the pure alcohol content of
it. It’s the second highest ingredients on the list and though there’s a debate
on alcohol in skincare, I still think that some alcohols are drying and what
they use in this product is one of them. Like I mentioned, though this
sunscreen doesn’t leave that tacky and greasy feeling most sunscreens do, it
leaves a siliconey feeling to my skin which I don’t find it pleasing.
To sum my
review, I don’t really think I’ll repurchase it. Though this is my second
purchase and I did love the first bottle I tried (the older version) the new
version just makes me really take a step back and really makes me feel ifty
about this sunscreen. If you don’t have really sensitive or acne prone skin
like myself, you might like this. I know a lot really do but I just have to
give this sunscreen a pass. It was fun while it lasted.
Bye~
