Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner
Me and acne are really tight,
you know. It seems like no matter what I do, they are THERE. I used to be obsessed with getting rid of it, but now, I’m
like… whatever. If it want to stay, I can’t do much so I pretty much just
accepted that it’s been a part of my life, experiencing life with me. I mean,
my acne are the sole witness of the abuse and traumas I went through in
university, so, I might as well keep them for future story telling. Just in
case my future self decides to rant about my university life, and the listener
doesn’t believe in her, my acnes are there to justify the shit that people put
me through. HA! … This is just my effort to be funny, by the way.
Anyway, just because I kinda
accepted acne as part of face, doesn’t mean I don’t go around secretly behind
its back, trying to get rid of it. So, when I ran out of toner, I was doing my
research on the net what’s the best toners for acne. I know people pretty much
dismissed toners as being unnecessary but I like them. So, when I came across
the Benton’s Aloe BHA Skin Toner and read couple of reviews on it, I had high
hopes. Not only all of the reviews had been positive but I also ADORE their Soothing Aloe Propolis Gel.
So, you could say that my expectations on this toner are rather high.
I purchased this toner around
40.00 MYR on Shopee and for the amount (200ml) you get, I’d say it’s a steal
though I did spot some sellers selling as low as 32.50 MYR. It passed the mark
for pricing to me! But anyway, I mainly purchased this toner for its benefits.
Like mentioned, I have acne-prone skin. What makes it worse is that it’s prone
to heating up, hyper pigmentations and oiliness. The claims of the toner and
the ingredients really did win me over. I’ll
just copy and paste benefit and ingredients from the Benton’s website down
here:

Let me just give a ‘round of applause to
Benton for listing the percentage of the main ingredients. It just shows how
transparent they are. I mean, it’d be nice if they listed the percentage of all
their ingredients but I’m fine with it.
(The texture)
(Sorry for my disgusting hand Dx)
I mean, as much as I like the
ingredients, I feel like this doesn’t do much for my acne prone skin. Salicylic
Acid is one of the main ingredients of this toner however I feel like it doesn’t
do much for my acne. When I went through one of the worst breakouts of my life,
where my skin was horribly inflamed and cystic acnes were formed on my right
cheek, I relied on this toner to clear it up since NOTHING I did worked. I was
using my Nixoderm’s spot treatment, Cosrx AHA Whitehead Power Liquid (Which
were Holy Grails btw) but they are still THERE. I had high hope for this toner to
exfoliate my skin in a gentle way but nothing. I mean, it didn’t make it anymore
worse by drying my skin or something but it also doesn’t do much to get rid of
it. Good news is that, my skin did feel supple and hydrated with this toner and
my pores are not even noticeable so it really did help in those department.
I guess that’s it? :P
