Kayman Rosa Glow Essence Review
Am I the only one who used to have major
doubts with local brands? I hope not. When it comes to anything to do with the
face, skincare or makeup, I’ll be honest, local brands is not the first I’d
reach for. They never blew my mind away.
But, that’s my initial thoughts on local
brands until I gave myself a pep talk and told myself; let’s give local brands
a chance. Let’s explore. And that’s what I did. I think late last year and earlier
this year, I did some discoveries and there are actually some brands that I
actually like and see myself supporting. It really seemed like they really did
their research and put on some thoughts before coming out with a product.
And Kayman is one of the brands that changed
my perception on local products. The first product I tried from the brand is
their charcoal cleanser which received quite the hype on Twitter ( I don’t have
Twitter, but I heard xD) and I loved it, I repurchased it twice and I’m
actually on a different cleanser at the moment but I can’t stop saying good
things about that cleanser. I wished I reviewed it but I go through it before I
could.
Okay, enough about that. I’m going to talk
about their Rosa Glow Essence. This product was released last year and when it
was revealed on their Insta, I was really excited and anxious. I had really
high hopes for it since I had a pleasant experience with their cleanser and it
really fit with my main skin concern; hyperpigmentation.
This essence is different compare to the rest of
the essence I’ve seen in the market because when it comes to essence, what
people expect it to do is to target all skin concerns; brightening, anti-aging,
hydration. Basically that’s what most essences claims to do but Kayman only
claimed it could help for those with dull skin and for brightening which to me;
it’s fine. I don’t really buy to the claims that one product could fix all of
your skin problems.
Anyway, I bought this essence on December on
my birthday, when it was first released.
I LOVE the minimal ingredients in the list! It
helps to reduce any potential irritations and most of the ingredients in this
product is actually good. No alcohol, no fragrance and I never experienced any
irritation with this essence so I think those with sensitive skin can actually
use this unless you’re allergic to the ingredients in the list.
Ingredients : water, cucumber extract, glycerine, beetox-H, xantham
gum, rosa damascene flower
water, alpha arbutin,
phenoxyethanol
Most of the ingredients are familiar to me. One of their
star ingredients is alpha arbutin which really helps with brightening and some
people claim to help with hyperpigmentation.
This is actually my first time incorporating an
essence into my skincare by the way so I can’t really compare it to anything
but I’ll try my best to sum up my experience. It’s not the worse but it’s also doesn’t
wow my mind, get it.
I adore Kayman for their minimalistic approach in their
products but unfortunately for me, I don’t actually see much of a difference
when it comes to overall brightening effect. As mentioned, I’ve been using this
since December and only now, I’m running out but my hyperpigmentation and marks
are still there, not fading. At this point, I think that if you pour bleach
over them, they’re still there so…
This essence also doesn’t do much for me when
I am experiencing breakouts. My redness and inflamed acnes and blemishes are
still there, angry.
Also, even though the essence lasts a long time, I don’t
think it’s that affordable. It’s RM89+8 shipping so … hahaha. No.
I will give it props for not breaking out my
skin but other than that, I can’t worship it. Unfortunately, this isn’t the
essence that changes my skin’s game so I don’t think I’d repurchase. That’s my
thoughts but maybe you will have a better experience with it.
Might receive hate for this but I’m just giving my honest
feedback. Bye bye~
