Peripera Blur Pang Banana Milk Blur Review

Hey-yo! Today, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the Peripera Blur Pang Banana Milk. Not sure if this is meant to be a tone-up cream or a primer but whatever! Before buying this, I actually did some research, just to find out what’s others’ opinions on it or if it’s just worth spending 46.70 MYR on it. Unfortunately, I didn’t find much on it and the reviews I came across are mostly positive so, I decided, why not.

(This looks pasty because of the lighting, I swear!)

As always, I’m going to start with a disclaimer that I’m not big on base makeup. There, I said it. Still don’t know how to choose the right foundation and concealer shade. Each time I go shopping for foundation or concealer, I ALWAYS end up with a few shade lighter that makes me look ashy. At this point, I give up on foundations and concealers and pray that one day, I have enough money to afford Riri’s foundation but that’s another matter for another day. Anyway, like I mentioned, I give up on foundation and concealers but that doesn’t mean the same thing could be said on primers or tone-up creams. I feel like even without foundations or concealers on top of it, primers and tone-up creams could work just fine or is enough to give your face a lift or a woken-up look.

First, this is my first tone-up cream so I can’t really compare it to other brands however, I will try my best to give a round up of my opinion. They have other varieties of Blur Pangs but I decided to get the Banana one because I feel like it addresses to my skin’s concern and what I’m looking for and I can’t afford to buy all three, honesty right there. I have been testing this for a year now and I know it’s bad to be using makeup that long but I really want to test it out so I know what I’m talking about.

Where to start? Well, I don’t hate it. As always, I’m going to start with the goods. The claims are that it will give you a tone up and natural cover effect and I feel like it does live up to that. It’s not tacky, firstly. I mentioned in the Oh Most Wanted Foundation Review post that I’m scared of base makeup because of the tacky feeling and this is non tacky at all though not as light as the foundation by Oh Most Wanted. It’s not obnoxious on top of my skin and doesn’t give me that suffocating feeling. My skin definitely can breath even with this on top. On that note, it’s not thick like most creams which made it so easy to spread on the surface of my skin. As for the natural cover effect, it cancels out the redness on my face. Whenever I have VERY bad skin day and inflamed pimples all over my face, I would usually apply this and they’re less visible. It doesn’t cover up my hyperpigmentation or scars but for redness, it helps in that area. Oh! I also use this to brighten up my dark circles. Bear in mind, my dark circles aren’t as severe as most people but they are there and they didn’t cause my under eyes any irritations so bonus to that. As for the main part, the tone up part, if you’re expecting to look pasty white with this product, just look for something else. However, if you’re looking to look more brighter and even, then you might want to check this product out. I think this is what I appreciate the most from this product. Is that, it doesn’t give me that obnoxious white effect that would even scare Ju-On or makes me look sick. It just gives you a brighter look and give your skin a hint of glow which if you don’t know me by now, I’m all about that natural glow.

With the goods, there’s always going to be the bad for a product and I feel kind of bad because I want to embrace this but at the same time, there’s certain things about that kind of make me take a step back from it. First, it balled up or clumps when you apply powder on top. It’s not that bad however if you’re like me and like to zoom in and be super critical of your face, then that could be a problem. I don’t know what’s causing that but it always balled up when I apply powder. It could be the powder, we don’t know. Also, did I mention that this is no way long lasting? If you have oily skin or live in a humid country, this is not your friend. It looks good but if it’s a hot day and you’re going to be sweating, give this a pass because…yeah.  I tried testing the application of this by the way! I tried using my fingers and that’s the best way to go because I feel like it melts the product better but if you’re using a sponge, I find that it’s rather patchy.

Ummm… I guess that’s it! Would I repurchase…? I don’t know! Overall, it’s not bad and I know how to work with it BUT I still want to test out other tone-up creams so, for now. I will give it a pass. Who knows? If the other tone up creams at the market really sucks compare to this, I would go back to it. For now, I just want to finish it up first then move on to better things. That’s all, tata~ or bye!
